Announcing The Whinnies! at the 2017 Napa Valley Film Festival, November 8 - 12!

2 beautiful films screen together in 2 fabulous locations

Wednesday, November 8 @ 8:00 pm, Farmstead in St. Helena (seats 90)
Sunday, November 12 @ 10:00 am, Uptown Theatre in Napa (seats 400)

An intelligent and loving team help Ziggy, a wild 19-year-old Zebra/pony cross, whose owner bred her as a novelty, to overcome fear and crippling pain due to her breeding, as well as to become a participant in her own care.

Taming Wild (:43)

For horse trainer Elsa Sinclair and Myrnah it all began with a question: "Would a wild horse, free and unfettered, in full choice, let me ride her, voluntarily?" A glorious and powerful exploration of the horse/human partnership.

Napa ticket information: All-Festival and Day Passes will be accepted at all screenings. You can purchase these passes in advance at

Rush tickets can be purchased at the door for $20 if seats are still available after passholders have been admitted.

The festival is offering an advance ticket sale for the Sunday morning (November 12th) screening at the Uptown Theater in Napa at 10am. To purchase tickets for this screening only, click here.

Most of The Whinnies! screenings sold out in 2016 so we strongly suggest you purchase passes and/or choose the larger venues and/or arrive early.

Following each screening will be a lively discussion with the filmmakers about the challenges and discoveries each film explores. Kimberly Carlisle, the curator of The Whinnies! and co-founder of Flag Ranch will be your host.

The Whinnies! at Napa this year are dedicated to Flag, a fierce, mischievous and loving horse who inspired them and the creation of Flag Ranch. He died in July after 34 amazing years on earth.
